Going Out

I don't get to go on nights out very often which is one of the perils of being a single mum with no family back up available. So my wardrobe consists mainly of comfy mummy clothes for the school run and a few smarter bits and pieces. Anyway I have a night out in a few weeks time. Nothing too fancy. Its an awards night for my youngest's swimming club. Its in a pub function room but she's getting an award so I want to look nice

.I've trawled round the shops but either the outfits are not in my size (cough Topshop) or are just too young looking (cough New Look). The other category that i found was the outfit in outlandish prints. I don't know why some stores think that if you are a larger size then you automatically want to dress in a bright print. That doesn't disguise your size, you need something in a good flattering cut for your shape.

This is why I ended up at Evans again and this is what I got.

I would have preferred a v neck for the top but the scoop neckline isn't too high so hopefully my bust won't look too matronly! The leggings are velvet so look a little dressier than ordinary ones. I have some glittery silver earrings and will probably wear my hair up. I liked that fact that it's quite a versatile outfit. I have lots of tops that i could wear with the leggings and a velvet skirt that will go perfectly with the top. I have a limited budget so I need clothes that i can wear more than once.

I've talked before about liking designer accessories so i thought I'd share one of my favourites with you today.

This is my Marc Jacobs bag. I love it! It goes with everything, is roomy enough to fit lots in and is super strong!

I'm going to finish with today's outfit which basically didn't have much thought go into it. I've got a stinking cold and haven't done any ironing. So I rummaged in the wardrobe and found this. I had forgot I had it so it was a bonus. It was a little creased but the best that I could manage today!

Bye for now

Riki
